Synopsis:
Cao Luoqiu family is forever broken when her father is imprisoned. Cao Luoqiu writes to her father every day but never sends the letters to him. She throws herself into her studies at Peking Opera school but finds no solace in the company of her classmates. She is the target of constant humiliation, if not for the support and encouragement of her teacher Wang Lu, Cao Luoqiu would be completely bereft. Before her big solo audition, Cao Luoqiu’s letters to her father were snatched by a classmate and burned in the fire. Cao Luoqiu struggles with the transition of the drama reform, and mourns the loss of her father and her passion for performing.
Director Biography – Wang Yingying:
My Chinese name is Wang Yingying, and my English name is Zoe. I studied multimedia and digital design in Shanghai and Singapore Raffles Institute of design. After returning from Singapore, I wrote and directed two short films in China. I was preparing to go abroad to study Film but due to the epidemic I ended up staying in Shanghai and studied at the Shanghai Vancouver Film School and made six short films.
